Market Calendar

June 2021

19th- Ice Cream for Dads: Stop by the market manager's booth and treat dad to a FREE ice cream popsicle made from our farmers' produce. We'll be offering Blueberry Basil, Honey Vanilla and Peach.

While you're at the booth, pick up a Father's Day Menu. We've got two different menus for a special supper- including an ingredient list and recipes.

26th- Family Day at the Market and Medication Take-Back: Bring your unused medication to the Empowering Youth & Families Booth (Beside the Catawba County Sheriff's Office Booth), and receive a FREE $5 TOKEN to be spent anywhere in the farmers market. We also have our community partners coming to provide resources and free activities:

* Catawba County Sheriff's Office:

                    Ident-a-Kid: Your child's fingerprints, photo, and demographic information is put on a CD that parents take home. Should your child                        ever become missing, parents give this CD to law enforcement to assist their efforts to find your child.

                    Safe Kids: Will be talking about summer safety, such as water and sun safety. They will also be providing car seat checks.

*Empowering Youth & Families Program: Stop by their booth to learn about the opioid crisis in our community.

*Catawba County 4-H: Their booth will be offering handmade crafts and a FREE children's activity.

* Junior Entrepreneurs: local children learn how to start a business and sell their product.

*Guardian Ad Litem Office: Come learn how you can volunteer to be a voice to children in foster care. There is a critical need for volunteer advocates!

* Hickory Greenway Harvest: Bring the kids by their booth so they can make their own zen garden to go along with HGH's newest book!

* Fostering Hope: This volunteer-lead group comes alongside foster families in Catawba County, supporting and providing them with much-needed age and gender appropriate supplies for emergency placements.
